Why Scotland needs independence; Oates decentralisation theorem. Independence will allow Scotland to maximise it's social and economic welfare. Independence will provide a higher level of social and economic welfare than the current regime, where central government provides a uniform set of policies and public goods- since having additional choices to make, regional policymakers can choose to replicate existing central policies, or choose to improve upon them. They will always improve upon them.
