Cola Works: A Middle School Science Fair Project

http://www.rma.edu Julia, a sixth grade student at Randolph-Macon Academy, explains her award-winning science project, "Cola Works." Julia tested six different types of soda to see which brand would clean a copper penny the best. Included in her test were Sprite, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Coca-Cola, and Barq's Root Beer. Her experiment and carefully designed display board earned her one of the two "Best in Show" awards given at the Randolph-Macon Academy Science Fair on February 26, 2014. R-MA is a co-ed, private boarding and day school for students in grades 6 through 12. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and features an Air Force JROTC program for students in grades 9 through 12.
