CGCC Psychology Club hosts a Brown Bag Lecture Series each semester that showcases mental health professionals from the community discussing relevant topics in psychology. This month's lecture featured Dr. Jim Afremow. He shared insights regarding how a student’s mind will benefit from the mental training of athletes. Dr. Afremow is the author of The Champion’s Mind: How Great Athletes Think, Train, and Thrive (2014). He is a much sought-after sports psychology specialist and licensed professional counselor. He is founder of Good to Gold Medal, PLLC, a leading sports psychology coaching and consulting practice in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Afremow has a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology and Master’s of Counseling (M.A.) from Michigan State University.
