Mark Joseph Walmsley of the University of Leeds received the 2015 Ronald T. and Gayla D. Farrar Award in Media and Civil Rights History for his article “Tell It Like It Isn’t: SNCC and the Media 1960-1965,” published in the February 2014 issue of the Journal of American Studies. Walmsley delivered the Farrar Award lecture on April 4, 2015, at the third biennial Media & Civil Rights History Symposium. The University of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communications sponsors the three-day Symposium. MCRHS
