Introduction and cytoarchitecture --- This course will examine the physiological basis of behavior. Topics that will be covered include the nervous system, research methods, and neural mechanisms involved in sensory and perceptual processes, learning and memory, reproductive behavior, emotion, stress and neurological and psychiatric disorders. Attention will also be paid to the developing nervous system and how this can be used to understand child/adolescent behaviors. Prerequisites: Psy 101 and Psy 300 or SS 300.
