Foucault’s Genealogy. A lecture on methodology.

A lecture I've prepared on the key methodological tool of Michel Foucault, a French philosopher and sociologist most often associated with Post-Structuralism (although he disliked the label).

It explores the development of Genealogy as a methodology, with it's roots in Nietzsche and connection to Foucaults other methodology - archeology. After illuminating it's context, the discussion moves towards a look at the key principles which underpin Genealogical Analysis and the challenges faced with conducting it against contemporary discursive practices.

The audio track was recorded in my office to test the timing, so please forgive the twang of awkwardness which comes from sitting alone in a room and talking to yourself!

If you have any thoughts about the discussion points, I'd love to hear them.
